In response, the Gujarat government has issued a new circular that allows customers to return purchased items, mandating that retailers must accept these returns.

The Gujarat government has mandated that if a customer returns an item in its original condition, the retailer cannot refuse to accept it. Should a retailer deny the return, the customer has the right to file a complaint with the consumer court. This could lead to legal action against the retailer, including fines.
