In Karnataka, the voter turnout in Bagalkot and Davanagere South was recorded at 54.82% and 49.66%, respectively, which is considered average. These elections were necessitated by the vacancies left due to the passing of current legislators, leading to a competitive race among major national and regional parties. Early Voting Trends in Nagaland and Tripura

By 11 AM, the Election Commission reported a notable 59.52% turnout in Nagaland's Koridang constituency. Voters in Tripura's Dharmanagar also showed enthusiasm, surpassing the 50% mark with a turnout of 52.76%. Meanwhile, Karnataka experienced a significant increase in voter participation, with Bagalkot's turnout rising to 43.75% and Davanagere South reaching 37.17%.

Candidates for Karnataka's By-Elections

In Karnataka, the Congress party has nominated Umesh Meti from the Bagalkot constituency and Samarth Mallikarjun for the Davanagere South by-election. Umesh Meti is the son of the late Congress leader Meti Hullappa Yemanappa (HY Meti), who previously represented the Bagalkot seat, while Samarth Mallikarjun is the son of Karnataka minister S.S. Mallikarjun. The BJP has fielded Veerabhadrayya Charantimath and Srinivas T. Dasakariappa as candidates for Bagalkot and Davanagere South, respectively.
