Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed an election rally here Saturday, calling for regime change in Kerala.
He asserted that a BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government would remove all hurdles to development, expressing confidence that Keralam's people are ready for historic change.
PM Modi began by paying obeisance to Kerala's cultural and spiritual traditions, saluting Sri Vallabha Temple, saint Thiruvalluvar, Sabarimala, and Lord Ayyappa. He noted a changed electoral atmosphere with clear NDA support.
Highlighting NDA governance in Northeast states and Goa-where Christian populations are significant PM Modi said: What remained undone for 50-60 years, NDA governments accomplished. He promised Keralam would reach new development heights under NDA, resolving farmers' and fishermen's issues.
Targeting the Left government, PM Modi criticized delays in Sabarimala rail project hurting Tiruvalla and vicinity: This project aids pilgrims, boosts local trade, creates youth jobs. Double-engine government will clear all obstacles.
Expressing concern over infrastructure, he said roads, bridges, health facilities are in poor shape: LDF-UDF neglected Keralam for decades, impacting living standards. Centre allocated five times more funds, yet benefits haven't reached people.
PM Modi identified youth migration for jobs as Keralam's biggest challenge: Focus on industry, services, startups, skill development needed so youth find opportunities locally. Remove corruption, communal politics barriers.
On women empowerment, he highlighted NDA schemes: toilets, Jan Dhan accounts, homes in women's names, Mudra loans, self-help groups. Citing 'Lakhpati Didi' scheme: Crores of women economically empowered; campaign continues.
Reiterating 33% women's reservation commitment in Parliament-assemblies,PM Modi urged all parties' support. On foreign policy, he assured safety of Indians in Gulf via constant government contacts.
Accusing Congress leaders' statements as irresponsible amid West Asia tensions, PM Modi said efforts continue to safely evacuate stranded Indian fishermen from Iran and region: Their lives paramount; government spares no effort.
Attacking LDF-UDF for development failures-mutual blame but blocking progress-Modi raised Sabarimala temple issues: NDA government will ensure fair probe, action against guilty; devotees deserve justice, no compromise on faith.
He appealed for NDA support, confident a new government soon establishing development, good governance, transparency benchmarks.
