New Delhi, 02 August (H.S.): After witnessing a continuous rise for two consecutive days, gold prices in the domestic bullion market showed a downward trend on Sunday.
In contrast, silver prices recorded a marginal increase. Due to the decline in gold prices, the yellow metal became cheaper by ₹360 to ₹390 per 10 grams across most bullion markets in the country, while silver prices rose slightly by ₹100 per kilogram.
Following the latest price movement, 24-carat gold was trading between ₹1,44,220 and ₹1,44,370 per 10 grams in most bullion markets, while 22-carat gold was being sold in the range of ₹1,32,200 to ₹1,32,350 per 10 grams. Silver, after a marginal rise, was trading at ₹2,35,000 per kilogram in the Delhi bullion market.
On a weekly basis, both gold and silver witnessed a decline amid continued volatility. During the previous week's trading, 24-carat gold fell by up to ₹700 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold declined by around ₹750 per 10 grams. Silver also turned cheaper despite fluctuations, with its weekly price dropping by nearly ₹5,000 per kilogram.
In Delhi, 24-carat gold was trading at ₹1,44,370 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was priced at ₹1,32,350 per 10 grams. In Mumbai, the country's financial capital, 24-carat gold was available at ₹1,44,220 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at ₹1,32,200 per 10 grams. Similarly, in Ahmedabad, the retail price of 24-carat gold stood at ₹1,44,270 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was priced at ₹1,32,250 per 10 grams.
Apart from these major cities, 24-carat gold in Chennai was trading at ₹1,44,220 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at ₹1,32,200 per 10 grams. In Kolkata, 24-carat gold was also priced at ₹1,44,220 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold stood at ₹1,32,200 per 10 grams. In Bhopal, 24-carat gold was available at ₹1,44,270 per 10 grams, whereas 22-carat gold was trading at ₹1,32,250 per 10 grams.
In Jaipur, 24-carat gold was trading at ₹1,44,370 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at ₹1,32,350 per 10 grams. In Patna, 24-carat gold was priced at ₹1,44,270 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold stood at ₹1,32,250 per 10 grams. In Lucknow's bullion market, 24-carat gold was trading at ₹1,44,370 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at ₹1,32,350 per 10 grams.
Like other parts of the country, bullion markets in Karnataka, Telangana, and Odisha also witnessed weakness in gold prices. In the capitals of these three states - Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Bhubaneswar - 24-carat gold was trading at ₹1,44,220 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was available at ₹1,32,200 per 10 grams.
