IGP reviews security ahead of Independence Day

Jammu, Aug 13 (HS) Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone, Jammu, Mukesh Singh has reviewed high-level meetings with senior officers through video conference ahead of Independence Day celebrations. He reviewed the security measures to be taken in the run-up to 15th August and also to take stock of the progress of the security and other allied arrangements being made for the Independence Day celebration in view of the present prevailing security scenario in Jammu region.

During the meeting, detailed briefing was given by Range DIGs and district SSPs on account of the security arrangements that have been put in place in the run-up to 15th August in all district of Jammu province including Jammu City and detailed deliberations were held on all the points concerning parade contingents, preparation of venue, anti-sabotage checks of the venues, barricading, and traffic arrangement in the City and at the venue, for Independence Day Celebrations.

He asked the officers to step up vigil and security in the district to check any attempt of infiltration, movement of anti-national elements, and forestall any ill-conceived plan of terrorists. All the check posts deployed on border roads, NH-44, and other interior highways will be put on high alert round the clock.
