Maratha reservation fighter Manoj Jarange withdraws hunger strike

Nagpur, 31 May

(HS): Manoj Jarange Patil, who had launched hunger strike at Antarwali Sarathi

in Jalna district, on Saturday, withdrew it around 1.15 am on May 31, following

discussion with a delegation of the State Government.

The delegation

led by Minister Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil and BJP MLA Prasad Lad reached Antarwali

Sarathi around 10.30 pom on Saturday, with action plan and proposals of the

State Government. Jarange suggested certain changes in the proposals, which

were accepted and at 1.15 am on Sunday Jarange accepted a glass of water from

Vikhe Patil to withdraw his hunger strike.

Jarange has

threatened to launch his hunger strike again, if the state government fails to

take decision on the conditions agreed by Tuesday (June 2). Jarange has been

fighting for reservation to the Maratha community.
