On Corporate Tax slash, Mayawati's dig at Modi govt: "Why take decision that need to be reversed later?"
New Delhi| Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati reacted to the slash in corporate tax rates announced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Friday. Mayawati hailed the central government's decision of reduction in corporate tax as historic, which will end the country's economic slowdown and financial crisis.
However, she did not leave the opportunity to take a dig at the Modi govt. She said why did the govt take such a step in the first place that has to be taken back now?
FM Nirmala Sitharaman announced nearly 10 per cent reduction in corporate tax. Soon after the announcement, the Sensex jumped to 2284 points and the property value of investors increased by Rs 6.82 lakh crores. BSE's 30-share index Sensex gained 1921.15 points or 5.32 per cent to end at 38,014.62 points. This is the biggest boom in the last decade in BSE.
