HYDERABAD: Families in Ameenpur were left stranded on the roads after a demolition drive under the Hydra operation cleared several structures.
Residents said the action was carried out without prior notice, forcing them to vacate homes abruptly.
Many families, including those with infant children, were seen sitting by the roadside with belongings piled up. Locals said they had no immediate alternative shelter.
Residents allege lack of prior notice
Affected residents alleged that officials did not provide sufficient warning before carrying out the demolitions. "We were not given time to move our things. We are now on the road with children," one resident said.

Officials, however, maintained that the operation targeted unauthorised constructions as part of enforcement measures in the area.
Concerns over rehabilitation and relief
The incident has raised concerns over rehabilitation and relief measures for displaced families. Residents demanded temporary shelter and compensation.
Authorities have not yet announced any immediate relief or resettlement plan for those affected.
