HYDERABAD: The chief minister clarified the government's position on the Madhupark Ridge Apartments issue in Bandlaguda Jagir, stating that constructions within the buffer zone of the Esi River cannot be given value.
He said the apartment complex stands on about seven acres along the riverbank.
River buffer norms apply to both sides
The chief minister said river protection rules mandate a 50-metre buffer zone on both sides of the river channel.
Buildings falling within this zone cannot be recognised for valuation, he said.
Government offered alternative land and financial support
The chief minister said the government had proposed an alternative arrangement for the residents.
"We suggested allocating seven acres nearby and also depositing funds in a bank so that residents can construct new apartments," he said.
However, he added that the issue was being politicised despite the government offering a solution.
He urged people to understand the government's decision with a "proper perspective".
