Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital to host Global ISDE meet

HYDERABAD: For the first time in India, the International Society for Diseases of the Esophagus (ISDE) India Edition 2026 will take place April 10 to 11 at The Westin, Hitech City, Hyderabad.

The Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute (BIACH&RI) will host the event as it marks its Silver Jubilee and celebrates 25 years of excellence in cancer care and academics.

The two-day program will feature international faculty from seven countries and leading Indian experts who will present the latest advances in esophageal cancer treatment and research. Esophageal cancer remains a leading cause of cancer deaths in India.

The program includes distinguished international faculty such as Prof. Lorenzo Ferri (Canada), Dr. Ken Kato (Japan), Dr. Hiroyuki Daiko (Japan), Dr. Edward Cheong (Singapore), Dr. Cuong Duong (Australia), and Dr. Steven Lin (USA).



Indian leaders, including Dr. T. Subramanyeswara Rao, Medical Director of BIACH&RI, President of the Indian Association of Surgical Oncology (IASO), and President-Elect of the Global Forum of Cancer Surgeons, as well as Dr. C.S. Pramesh, Director of Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, will join them.

Speaking on the occasion, Nandamuri Balakrishna, Chairman & Managing Trustee of the Nandamuri Basavatarakam Taraka Rama Memorial Cancer Foundation (NBTRMCF), said, "Medicine is not just a science, it is a commitment. ISDE India Edition 2026 reflects our commitment to bring the world's finest knowledge to our people."

Dr. T. Subramanyeswara Rao added, "Hosting ISDE in India is more than an honour, it is a declaration that India is ready to lead the global fight against cancer." Further Dr. C.S.
