Bhongir train fall kills newlywed couple

BHONGIR: A newly married couple died after accidentally slipping from a moving train on the Vangapalli-Aler railway section in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district late on Thursday night.

According to railway police, the victims were Korada Simhachalam, 25, and his wife Bhavani, 19, both natives of Parvathipuram Manyam district. The couple had got married two months ago.

Couple travelling to relatives' home

Simhachalam was working at a chemical factory in Hyderabad and was staying with his wife at Gandhinagar in Jagadgirigutta. They boarded the Machilipatnam Express from Secunderabad on Thursday night to visit relatives in Vijayawada.



Fall after crossing Vangapalli station

After the train crossed Vangapalli railway station, the couple, who were standing near the door, slipped and fell from the moving train, resulting in their death on the spot.

Railway trackmen noticed the bodies during routine duty on Friday morning and alerted the railway police.

Case registered

A case has been registered and an investigation is underway, Bhongir Railway Government Railway Police in-charge Krishna Rao said.
