SATHUPALLI: A 56-year-old woman died in a road accident after losing control of her scooter when a dog suddenly ran across the road in Khammam district on Sunday.
Police said Morampudi Swarnalatha, a resident of Sathupalli, was riding her scooter towards Reddyalapadu in Dummugudem mandal when a dog darted across the road near the Thammileru bridge. Startled, she lost control and rammed her two-wheeler into a stationary lorry parked by the roadside.
Swarnalatha and her vehicle were trapped under the rear portion of the lorry, killing her on the spot.

She was the wife of Ramakoteswara Rao, who has been confined to home for some time following a brain surgery. The couple have two children daughter Nagasree, settled in the United States, and son Naga Shyam, an IT professional in Hyderabad.
Police registered a case based on a complaint from the family and started an investigation.
