HYDERABAD: Chandanagar police have detected a case involving alleged large-scale forgery and illegal encroachment of government land, booking several persons for cheating, forgery, use of forged documents, criminal trespass and criminal conspiracy.
According to police, the case relates to government land in Survey Nos. 373, 374 and 375 of Chandanagar village in Serilingampally. The land belongs to the Social Welfare Department and was earmarked for public purposes, including housing for weaker sections and community utilities.
Accused created fake records to claim ownership
Police said the accused allegedly trespassed into the land and fabricated Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) house numbers. They also created fake house photographs to show non-existent structures.
Further, the accused allegedly generated fake Property Tax Identification Numbers (PTIN) and executed fraudulent registered sale deeds to illegally claim ownership over the government land.
Arrests made on March 31 and April 1
Chandanagar police arrested seven accused Neruti Niranjan (A-1), N. Venu Kumar (A-3), M. Kranthi Kumar (A-4), Raju Ravi Selvaraj (A-6), Syed Yousuf (A-7), Md Azher Ali (A-8) and Madham Suman (A-9) on March 31 and April 1, 2026.
All the accused are being produced before the court for judicial remand, police said, adding that further investigation is in progress.
