HYDERABAD: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has launched a fully mapped and upgraded digital system for registration and issuance of birth and death certificates, following its expansion to 300 wards and 60 circles after the merger of 27 urban local bodies (ULBs).
The new platform integrates all government and private hospitals and introduces a uniform digital application across the original GHMC area and the merged ULBs, officials said.
Uniform system after GHMC expansion
With the administrative expansion, GHMC officials said the upgraded system ensures complete mapping of all wards and circles, enabling seamless registration irrespective of location. The move is aimed at removing disparities that existed between the former GHMC limits and newly merged areas.
How citizens can apply
Citizens can apply for birth or death certificates by visiting the nearest MeeSeva centre. Registration can be completed using hospital records or field verification documents, after which certificates will be issued through the digital system.
Faster and transparent services
GHMC officials said the upgraded platform is designed to reduce delays, improve accuracy and make the process more transparent, aligning civic services with the corporation's expanded administrative structure.
