HYDERABAD: Gudimalkapur police arrested three persons and seized counterfeit Indian currency during an operation at Nanal Nagar on credible information.
Fake currency exchange intercepted at Nanal Nagar
Police said the arrests were made at Avalon Apartments, Nanal Nagar, when the accused were allegedly involved in the exchange of fake ₹500 notes. Officers found the trio quarrelling over the counterfeit currency during the operation.
The accused were identified as:
A1: Babulal Jatkukna (23), son of Rameshwarlal, engaged in private work and a resident of Rajasthan
A2: Dharmveer (22), son of Baburam, a student and a resident of Rajasthan
A3: Aweys Hersi Salad (30), son of Salad, a student residing at Paramount Colony, Tolichowki, Hyderabad, and a native of Kenya
Police said other associates involved in the racket are absconding.
Rajasthan link, receiver based in Hyderabad
During questioning, police found that A1 and A2 had travelled from Rajasthan to Hyderabad to deliver counterfeit ₹500 denomination notes to A3, who was allegedly acting as the receiver.
Cash, mobiles, motorcycle seized
Police seized 8½ packets containing 10 bundles of fake ₹500 notes, four mobile phones, and a Dio motorcycle bearing registration number TG 07 N 4481.
A case has been registered as Crime No. 20/2026 under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Gudimalkapur Police Station. Further investigation is in progress, police said.
