HMWSSB Seizes 18 Illegal Motors in Kukatpally

HYDERABAD: The vigilance wing of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) seized 18 motors illegally connected to water taps during a special inspection in Kukatpally on Wednesday morning.

Vigilance teams inspect illegal water connections

The inspection was conducted between 7.30 am and 10.30 am in Dharma Reddy Colony Phase-1 under Balaji Nagar ward in O&M Division-22 of the Kukatpally zone. Officials carried out checks during water supply hours and identified motors attached illegally to pipelines.

Board warns consumers against repeated violations

The HMWSSB said action would be taken against consumers found using motors connected to taps in violation of board rules. Officials said the motors would be seized and repeat offenders would face a ₹5,000 fine along with criminal cases.

The board appealed to consumers not to install motors on water taps illegally.

Consumers advised to report low-pressure supply issues

The HMWSSB said consumers facing low water pressure or other supply-related problems should contact the nearest manager, deputy general manager or general manager concerned.

Consumers can also register complaints through the HMWSSB customer care number 155313, the board said, adding that appropriate action would be taken to resolve grievances.
