HUSNABAD: A farmer from Ramavaram village in Akkannapet mandal died by suicide after suffering severe crop loss due to heavy rain.
Farmer's fields submerged after downpour
Police said Rekkala Srinivasa Reddy, 54, cultivated paddy on his three-acre holding. Recent heavy rain left his entire crop submerged.
Consumed pesticide on December 13
Unable to repay the loans he had taken for cultivation, Srinivasa Reddy reportedly slipped into distress. On December 13, he consumed pesticide in an attempt to end his life. Family members rushed him to a hospital in Karimnagar.

Died while being shifted to Hyderabad
As his condition deteriorated, doctors advised shifting him to Hyderabad for advanced treatment. He died en route on Tuesday night.
He is survived by his wife Lakshmi and two sons. Following a complaint from the family, police registered a case and began an inquiry.
