HYDERABAD: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) will file a charge sheet this week in the Formula E car race case.
The agency has prepared the charge sheet naming Bharat Rashtra Samithi working president and former minister K T Rama Rao as accused number one.
Senior officials said the investigation is almost complete and filing the charge sheet before the court is the next step.
The ACB had been waiting for the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) to grant sanction to prosecute IAS officer Arvind Kumar, named as accused number two. After the DoPT recently gave its approval to the state government, the government informed the ACB. Officials are now preparing all required documents to file the charge sheet this week.

Investigators have collected electronic and digital evidence in the case. The ACB is expected to state in the charge sheet that the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority suffered a loss of ₹75.88 crore due to the Formula E car race.
The agency is also likely to mention that awarding race responsibilities to Ace Next Gen, which had entered into an agreement with Formula E Operations, and the alleged receipt of ₹45 crore in electoral bonds by the Bharat Rashtra Samithi from the company formed part of a quid pro quo arrangement.
Governor Jishnu Dev Varma had granted sanction in November last year to prosecute K T Rama Rao.
The ACB registered a first information report in the case on December 18, 2024. Based on this, the Enforcement Directorate registered a separate case. Arvind Kumar, B L N Reddy and K T Rama Rao were questioned by both agencies.
According to sources, the charge sheet will allege that K T Rama Rao and others were involved in misappropriation of funds, cheating, criminal conspiracy and actions intended to confer undue benefits on others.
