Hyderabad airport will soon allow travellers to skip immigration line, Know how

Hyderabad: Indian travellers who wish to travel abroad have to wait in queue to clear the immigration checks at the airports. The clearance of immigration checks may take around 30 minutes on an average.

To facilitate the smooth travel experience for both Indian nationals and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs started the 'Fast Track Immigration-Trusted Traveller Programme (FTI-TTP)' at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport.

FTI-TTP to begin in Hyderabad airport soon

According to the officials, the FTI-TTP will be soon rolled out in seven major airports - Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Cochin, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Mumbai. As per reports, so far 1,500 travellers were granted clearance through e-gates at the IGI airport.

The faster immigration programme was one of the initiatives taken by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs under its first 100 days of the Modi 3.0 government, the officials added.

How to avail FTI-TTP?

Interested Indian nationals and OCI cardholders can apply for faster immigration through the government website www.ftittp.mha.gov.in.

The authorities will verify and approve the application and the traveller will be notified via email or SMS which will include instructions for the next steps.

The approved passenger is then asked to complete biometric enrolment and this step will be considered as the final step in the FTI-TTP registration process. The whole process is expected to take up to one month.
