Advanced drones for real-time surveillance

The team has deployed advanced drones for continuous aerial monitoring. These drones use thermal imaging sensors, night-vision optics, and high-definition real-time video. They can track movement even in low-light conditions and zoom in for precision.

The drones operate on stabilised platforms, allowing smooth observation of moving trains. Teams can also deploy them quickly during emergencies. Officials said the drones will act as aerial first responders. They will improve situational awareness and reduce blind spots.

Women personnel lead operations

DGCA-certified women RPF personnel operate the drones. They hold certified remote UAV pilot licences. Officials believe their visible presence will deter miscreants.

The initiative also strengthens ground-level response systems alongside aerial monitoring.

Direct WhatsApp access for commuters

The 'Shakti Saathi' WhatsApp platform allows women commuters to contact RPF control rooms directly. This ensures faster reporting and quicker response during emergencies.

Officials said the RPF plans to expand the initiative. More drones will be deployed across the MMTS network in the coming months.
