HYDERABAD: Motorists need not worry if they forget their wallet at home, as vehicle documents can now be accessed digitally through the NextGen mParivahan app.
Traffic police usually ask for registration certificate, driving licence and pollution certificates during checks. In such situations, drivers often face difficulty if they do not carry physical documents.
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has introduced the NextGen mParivahan app, which allows users to access virtual documents on their mobile phones.

Digital documents accessible in seconds
Once installed, users can log in using their registered mobile number through OTP verification. By entering the driving licence or registration number, the relevant details appear on the screen.
The app provides virtual registration certificate and driving licence with just a few clicks.
Integrated with Telangana transport database
The encrypted QR code in the app enables traffic police and transport authorities to verify documents instantly during inspections.
The Telangana transport department's database has recently been integrated with the central app. Earlier, digital services were available through the RTA m-Wallet app, but the new platform offers additional features.
Users can also share their vehicle registration certificate through the app and check details of other vehicles using the 'DL search' option.
The app remains useful even while travelling to other states across the country.
