Investigators alleged that Narne, 30, carefully planned the killing and uncovered evidence that he had been in a relationship with another woman. According to the investigation, he allegedly sent his girlfriend a photograph of his wife's body after her death.

A key breakthrough in the investigation came from messages in which Raajitha had complained that smoothies prepared by her husband tasted like "cough syrup", prompting investigators to examine the possibility of poisoning.

Wife found dead in apartment

On October 27, 2025, Narne, a software development engineer from Secunderabad in Telangana, called Bellevue Police, saying his wife had locked herself in the bathroom and was not responding.

Officers reached the apartment in the 13700 block of Northeast 10th Street, forced open the bathroom door and found Raajitha lying on the floor. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Probe uncovered alleged motive

As the investigation progressed, detectives examined the couple's communications and Narne's digital records. Police alleged that he had been involved in a relationship with another woman and that evidence recovered during the investigation linked him to the murder.

Investigators also found messages in which Raajitha reportedly told Narne that the smoothies he prepared tasted like "cough syrup". Those exchanges became a significant lead in the investigation and formed part of the evidence examined by detectives.

Police have charged Narne with first-degree murder. The case is expected to proceed through the Washington state court system.
