HYDERABAD: The Commissioner's Task Force, West Zone, arrested a 25 year old man for illegally procuring and selling steroid injections used for bodybuilding, and seized material worth ₹1.60 lakh.

Accused sold injections without licence or prescription

Police identified the accused as Mohd Faisal Khan, a furniture worker and resident of Kishanbagh. Officials said he was selling steroid injections without a valid drug licence or a doctor's prescription.

According to the Task Force, the accused regularly visited a gym and became aware of the demand for steroid injections among youth seeking rapid muscle growth. He allegedly began procuring the injections and selling them to known customers at inflated prices for financial gain.

Seizure worth ₹1.60 lakh

Based on a tip-off, the Task Force apprehended him near Asian Theatre in Attapur while he was carrying steroid injection vials. Police seized 133 Mephentermine Sulphate injections (30 mg each), 100 disposable syringes and a OnePlus 11R mobile phone, all valued at ₹1.60 lakh.

Injections sourced from Surat, police say

During interrogation, the accused told police that he had purchased the injections through IndiaMART from Surat and was selling them locally.

Officials warned that the unauthorised sale and use of steroid injections poses serious health risks, including addiction and long-term complications. Police said individuals who had consumed the injections were counselled and advised to consult qualified medical practitioners.

The arrest was made under the supervision of Inspector Ch. Yadender and Sub-Inspector Md. Jahed of the West Zone Task Force.
