HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad traffic police will implement a one-way traffic system around KBR Park from Tuesday as construction of seven multi-level steel flyovers and seven underpasses gets under way under the Hyderabad City Innovative and Transformative Infrastructure (H-CITI) project.
The ₹1,090-crore project is expected to take 24 months. The one-way arrangement is aimed at ensuring that vehicular movement is not disrupted during the construction period.
Hyderabad police commissioner V.C. Sajjanar said on Sunday that the traffic plan had been designed to ensure smooth movement of vehicles and minimise inconvenience to commuters.

Jubilee Hills Check Post records highest traffic volume
Of the seven major junctions around KBR Park, Jubilee Hills Check Post records the highest traffic volume, with 15,321 vehicles an hour.
The KBR Park main entrance junction handles 13,516 vehicles an hour, followed by Maharaja Agrasen Junction with 10,356, Road No. 45 junction with 9,966, Film Nagar junction with 9,605 and Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital junction with 5,880.

Between 10,000 and 15,000 vehicles pass through the corridor every hour during morning and evening peak periods, Sajjanar said.
Managing such traffic through the existing signal system is a challenge. The H-CITI project has been designed to address congestion around KBR Park and ensure smoother movement of vehicles, he said.
Recent traffic trials and inspections have also focused on the KBR Park main gate, Basavatarakam Hospital, Agrasen Junction, Film Nagar, Road No. 45 and Jubilee Hills Check Post.
