HYDERABAD: Hyderabad traffic police have announced traffic diversions at several locations in the city in view of Bonalu celebrations and processions scheduled on August 9 and 10.

The restrictions will cover the Simhavahini Sri Mahankali Lal Darwaza Bonalu celebrations and procession in the Old City, Darbar Maisamma Bonalu celebrations and elephant procession in Karwan, Mahankali temple festivities in Amberpet and Sri Katta Maisamma-Pochamma temple celebrations in Chilakalguda.

Lal Darwaza Bonalu to trigger traffic restrictions

Traffic restrictions for the Simhavahini Sri Mahankali Lal Darwaza Bonalu celebrations will be in force from 6am on August 9 until the procession ends, and from 9am on August 10 until the procession ends.

Vehicles coming from Engine Bowli towards Aliabad will not be allowed and will be diverted at New Shamsher Ganj T Junction towards Goshala, Tadban or via Goshala-Misrigunj towards Khilwat. Vehicles coming from Mahbubnagar X Roads towards Aliabad will be diverted at Engine Bowli towards Jahanuma, Goshala, Tadban or Khilwat.

Vehicles coming from Nagul Chinta and Sudha Talkies towards Lal Darwaza temple will be diverted at Nehru Mode via Sudha Talkies and Gowlipura. Vehicles from Gowlipura towards Lal Darwaza Mode will be diverted at Sudha Talkies via Haribowli towards Mirchowk.

Vehicles from Panch Mohalla in Charminar towards Nagul Chinta will be diverted via Haribowli, Volga Hotel and Misrigunj. Vehicles from Rajanna Bowli towards Lal Darwaza temple will be diverted towards Ramaswamy Gunj at the Venkateshwara Swamy temple, Baba Bar lane.

Vehicles from Kandikal Gate towards Lal Darwaza temple will be diverted towards Gowlipura at the OP Chatrinaka police station Y Junction. Vehicles from Balaganj towards Lal Darwaza temple will be diverted at Laxmidevi Pan Shop towards Nehru Statue-Nagul Chinta Junction.

Vehicles coming from Uppuguda and Chatrinaka through Gowlipura towards Mohammed Shukoor Mosque will not be allowed. They will be diverted towards Moghalpura police station at Balaraj Jewellers, Gowlipura X Roads.

Vehicles coming from Kandikal Gate flyover towards Chatrinaka OP will be diverted towards VN Reddy Kaman and Uppuguda Zenda. Heavy vehicles coming from Old Chandrayangutta towards Chatrinaka will not be allowed and will be diverted towards Santoshnagar and Chandrayangutta.

Vehicles from Fateh Darwaza towards Himmatpura X Roads and Rajesh Medical Hall will be diverted at Volga Hotel T Junction towards Khilwat Road. Vehicles from Gowlipura towards Sudha Theatre will be diverted at Mohammed Shukoor Mosque via Volga Hotel, Moghalpura and Etebar Chowk towards Mirchowk.

Vehicles from Chatrinaka OP towards Gowlipura will be diverted at Gandhi statue towards Sriramnagar Colony, Central Investigation Branch quarters, Sultan Shahi, Lalithabagh and Moghalpura.

Vehicles from Mir Ka Daira and Moghalpura towards Haribowli X Roads will be diverted towards the Moghalpura water tank area. Vehicles from Asra Hospital and Moghalpura water tank towards Charminar main road will be diverted towards Bibibazar.

Vehicles from Bhavaninagar and Mir Jumla Talab towards Charminar will be diverted at Bibibazar X Roads towards Alija Kotla and Mir Alam Mandi Road. Vehicles from Alija Kotla and Moghalpura towards Charminar through Sardar Mahal Road will be diverted at Chowk Maidan Khan via Hafeez Dankah Mosque and Arman Hotel.

Vehicles from Yakutpura towards Gulzar House will be diverted at Etebar Chowk towards Mir Alam Mandi and Alija Kotla Road. Vehicles from Purani Haveli through Chatta Bazar towards Tippu Khan Mosque will be diverted at Lakkadkot X Roads towards APAT junctions or Darul Shifa.

Vehicles from Chaderghat, Noor Khan Bazar, SJ Rotary and Shivaji Bridge towards Salar Jung Museum Road will be diverted at SJ Rotary towards Purani Haveli Road, Shivaji Bridge and Chaderghat.

Vehicles from Khilwat Road or Moosabowli Road towards Laad Bazar will be diverted at Moti Galli T Junction towards Khilwat playground or Moosabowli.

Vehicles from Bandike Adda and Ghansi Bazar towards Gulzar House will be diverted at Mitte-Ke-Sher, Sher-e-Batool Kaman, towards Ghansi Bazar and Chailapur. Vehicles from Ghansi Bazar and Chailapur towards Chakram Adda will be diverted at Ghansi Bazar towards Chailapur.

Vehicles from Puranapool, Goodwill Hotel and Moosabowli towards Nayapul through High Court Gate No. 1 along the Musi river will be diverted at Muslimjung Bridge towards Bhoolakshmi temple, Begum Bazar and Chhatri.

Vehicles from Gowliguda and Siddiamber Bazar towards Nayapul will be diverted at Afzalgunj via the road behind Osmania General Hospital towards Muslimjung Bridge or Shivaji Bridge.

The main road from Madina X Roads to Engine Bowli, covering Gulzar House-Charminar, Charminar Bus Terminal, Himmatpura, Nagul Chinta and Aliabad, will be completely closed to all vehicular traffic until the Bonalu procession ends.

Parking arrangements for Lal Darwaza devotees

Devotees arriving from Aliabad should park their vehicles in a single line on Devi Plywood Main Road opposite Shalibanda post office or at the vacant land near Alka Theatre.

Those arriving from Haribowli and Gowlipura should use the Arya Vaishya Mandir opposite the lane of Sudha Theatre, the vacant land near Alka Theatre, VDP School ground or Mitra Sports Club.

Devotees arriving from the Old Police Station Chatrinaka side should park at the Lakshminagar Sri Venkateshwara Swamy temple premises or Phoolbagh Chaman ground near Patthar Ki Dargah.

Those arriving from Moosabowli and Mirchowk should park at the Charminar Bus Terminal. Procession vehicles should park in a single line at Delhi Gate.

Telangana State Road Transport Corporation and Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation buses will not be allowed towards Charminar, Falaknuma and Nayapul. They will be halted at Old Central Bus Station, Afzalgunj, Darul Shifa X Roads, Chatrinaka and Engine Bowli and operated through alternative routes.

Karwan Bonalu traffic diversions

Traffic diversions for the Darbar Maisamma Bonalu celebrations and elephant procession from Sabzi Mandi to Nalla Pochamma temple in Karwan will be in force from 9pm on August 8 until the morning of August 10.

RTC buses and four-wheelers travelling from Puranapool Junction towards the 2J bus stop via Ziaguda Road will be diverted at Puranapool Junction. General vehicles travelling from Puranapool Junction towards Darbar Maisamma temple via Tappachabutra T Junction will be diverted at Mesco College through We The School towards Ziaguda Road.

Vehicles from Tappachabutra towards Darbar Maisamma temple will be diverted at Tappachabutra T Junction towards Zirra Road. Vehicles from Yadav Bhavan towards Darbar Maisamma temple via Karwan Road will be diverted at Murghi Chowk and Tallagadda Junction.

Vehicles from Moghal Ka Nala towards Puranapool Junction via Darbar Maisamma temple will be diverted at Nehru School towards the 2J bus stop. RTC buses and four-wheelers from Moghal Ka Nala towards Puranapool via Ziaguda Road will be diverted at the 2J bus stop towards 100 Feet Road.

Vehicles travelling from Asif Nagar towards Tappachabutra T Junction will be diverted at Royal Sea Hotel on Zirra Road when the elephant procession reaches Hanuman temple.

Parking will be available at the government primary and high school ground in Karwan, Tholi Masjid opposite the government school in Karwan and Jagat Singh private land for two-wheelers.

Amberpet Mahankali temple traffic plan

Traffic diversions around Mahankali temple in Amberpet will be in force from 6am on August 9 until noon on August 10.

District and city buses, heavy vehicles and other vehicles travelling from Uppal towards Chaderghat and MGBS will be allowed through Amberpet flyover. District and city buses, DCMs and heavy vehicles coming from Chaderghat and MGBS will also use the Amberpet flyover.

Devotees travelling from Ramanthapur towards the temple should use the left-side service lane at Amberpet flyover towards Gandhi statue, take a left turn and park their vehicles at the Amberpet GHMC ground.

General traffic from Ramanthapur towards Ali Cafe or Road No. 6 will be diverted at the left service lane near Gandhi statue at Amberpet flyover. Vehicles will enter through the SARCPL gate and exit through Saldana Gate.

RTC and city buses and heavy vehicles travelling from Tilak Nagar and NCC towards Ramanthapur and Uppal will be diverted at Road No. 6 Junction towards Golnaka. They will take a U-turn at Golnaka Chilla and proceed through Amberpet flyover.

If traffic builds up at Amberpet flyover, vehicles travelling from Uppal towards Amberpet T Junction and Ali Cafe will be diverted via Royal Juice Corner, Mallikarjun Nagar, DD Colony, Syndicate Bank, Shivam Road and Tilak Nagar.

If congestion develops at Saldana Gate, vehicles travelling towards Uppal will be diverted at Ali Cafe towards HMWSSB-Nagole Road.

General traffic from Nimbolli Adda towards Uppal will be diverted via Golnaka Zinda Tilismath, Ali Cafe, Saldana Gate, CPL Amberpet and Gandhi statue.

Chilakalguda temple routes to be avoided

Traffic diversions around Sri Katta Maisamma-Pochamma temple in Chilakalguda will be in force from 5am to 11pm on August 9 and 10.

In view of the expected rush of devotees, motorists have been asked to avoid roads leading towards the temple and use alternative routes.

Vehicles from Sitaphalmandi Junction towards Chilakalguda X Road will be diverted via Namalagundu-Waraseeguda X Road, Sitaphalmandi T Junction and OU City Road towards Tarnaka X Road.

Vehicles from Allugadda Baavi and Secunderabad travelling towards Sitaphalmandi via Chilakalguda X Road will be diverted towards Padmarao Nagar T Junction.

Traffic police have urged motorists to plan their journeys in advance. For emergency assistance, motorists can contact the traffic helpline at 9010203626.
