SANGAREDDY: The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Protection Agency (HYDRAA) on Wednesday launched enforcement action at Mela Cheruvu in Tellapur limits of Ramachandrapuram mandal, Sangareddy district, following complaints received through Prajavani.
Action taken after Prajavani complaints
HYDRAA officials said the operation was initiated after field verification confirmed large-scale dumping of soil and boulders within the tank's Full Tank Level (FTL) area.
Thousands of lorry loads dumped in FTL
During inspections, officials found that thousands of lorry loads of soil and rocks had been dumped, altering the natural shape of land within the FTL limits. Crops may be cultivated in such areas, but changing land nature by filling soil is not permitted, officials said.

Cases to be booked against violators
HYDRAA removed walls constructed across water inlets that blocked inflow into the tank. Fencing is being erected around nearly 40 acres within the FTL to prevent further encroachments, while ensuring that agricultural activities are not obstructed.
Officials said cases would be registered against those responsible for dumping soil in the tank area.
