Kandukur police arrest four over forged land documents

KANDUKUR: Four people were arrested in a case involving alleged forgery of landowners' signatures and creation of fake documents to facilitate the development and layout of land in Kandukur, police said.

A case was registered at Kandukur police station in connection with the preparation of forged documents and signatures relating to about 31 acres and 36 guntas of land in survey numbers 151, 152, 153, 165 and 166 in Kandukur revenue village.

Accused allegedly forged landowners' signatures

The investigation found that a fake document titled "Development Agreement-cum-Irrevocable General Power of Attorney" was prepared without the consent of some of the landowners, police said.

The accused allegedly forged the signatures of the landowners and made it appear that they had agreed to the development of the land. The preliminary investigation found that the accused attempted to make illegal gains by developing the land and converting it into a layout, police said.

Police seize original agreement during investigation

As part of the investigation, Kandukur police arrested A1 Polishetty Mallikarjun, A2 Marripalli Srinivas, A3 Vadala Rajendranath and A4 Manjunath Aadika Reddy.

Police seized an 18-page original "Development Agreement-cum-Irrevocable GPA" document allegedly connected to the offence from the accused.

Efforts are under way to arrest the remaining accused. The investigation is continuing.
