Mechanised road sweeping pilot launched in Cyberabad to improve sanitation

Mechanised road sweeping pilot launched in Cyberabad to improve sanitation

HYDERABAD: The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation on Saturday conducted a live demonstration of advanced mechanised road sweeping equipment at Parvath Nagar as part of a pilot initiative to improve road cleanliness and sanitation services.

The demonstration was inspected by the Commissioner of the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation, the Additional Commissioner (Sanitation), the Zonal Commissioner, Kukatpally, and the Deputy Commissioner, Madhapur.

The pilot featured three types of equipment. A self-propelled sweeping machine demonstrated its ability to clean internal roads and by-lanes, while a truck-mounted vacuum-cum-sweeping machine carried out mechanised sweeping and vacuum collection of dust and waste on major roads. A waste collection vehicle was also deployed to lift and transport the collected waste.

Two locations selected for field evaluation

As part of the pilot, mechanised sweeping operations are being carried out at two selected locations to evaluate the performance and operational efficiency of the equipment under field conditions.

Officials said the pilot will help assess the suitability of the technologies for wider deployment to strengthen sanitation services and improve road cleanliness across the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation limits.
