Mehdipatnam Police Bust MDMA Delivery Racket

HYDERABAD: Police arrested a gang allegedly involved in selling MDMA in Mehdipatnam and seized drugs worth ₹26.80 lakh, officials said on Saturday.

Rapido used for drug deliveries across city

The police seized 137.60 grams of MDMA, a Volvo car, an electronic weighing machine, packing covers and nine mobile phones from the accused.

According to police, the prime accused, M. Shubham Kumar Mishra of Gandhinagar, and his childhood friend Busa Sai Nikhil Yadav were addicted to consuming ganja and MDMA. During this period, Shubham allegedly procured MDMA from Sai Nikhil for personal use and for sale to others.

Gang allegedly packed drugs into small packets

Police said Sai Nikhil was recently arrested by Chilkalguda police in a drugs case and sent to jail. However, after his arrest, Shubham allegedly continued the operation with his associates Soham Naik and Kalangi Rajesh.

The accused allegedly divided the drugs into small packets and supplied them to customers. Police said Shubham personally delivered the drugs and also used Rapido services for deliveries. His brother, Muntun Kumar Mishra, was also allegedly involved in transporting the narcotics.

Four buyers also detained during operation

Based on a tip-off, teams from the Golconda Zone Task Force and Mehdipatnam police conducted a joint operation and arrested the accused on Saturday.

Police also detained four persons identified as Mohammed Abrar, Rashid Bin Hussain, Khaja Zohaibuddin and Abdul Shahbaz for allegedly purchasing drugs from the gang.
