Hyderabad : Heavy police deployment was made at Bagayath in Uppal on Thursday ahead of the land rights meeting proposed by TRS. Barricades were erected at key locations, and security personnel were deployed to prevent any untoward incidents.
Police have been carrying out preventive detentions of party workers in different parts of the city, asking organisers not to go ahead with the meeting. The detentions triggered tension among party supporters, who alleged that they were being prevented from participating in the programme.
Organisers shift venue to Chengicherla
Following the detentions, the organisers decided to shift the meeting to the Bolligudem Industrial Area in Chengicherla in an attempt to continue with the event. However, police reached the new venue and began removing the tents and other temporary arrangements put up for the meeting.
The developments led to tense scenes in both Uppal and Chengicherla as police maintained a tight vigil to prevent large gatherings.
