Hyderabad : A month after their destination wedding in Rajasthan, actors Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda hosted a private family celebration in Coorg, drawing close relatives and friends to a traditional gathering.
The couple arrived in Mysuru on April 5 with Vijay's parents, Madhavi and Govardhan Rao, before travelling to Virajpet, where Rashmika's family resides.
At an intimate dinner hosted on April 7 at Serenity Hall, a venue owned by her family, Rashmika addressed the gathering in Kodava Thakk. Dressed in a traditional Kodava sari with a pathook (thali) and hokke thaathi jewellery, she thanked the community for their support and sought blessings.
"I've got you all a handsome maima (son-in-law)," she said, drawing loud cheers from attendees.
Couple interacts warmly with guests at family venue
Guests described the evening as simple and elegant. Rashmika and Vijay entered hand in hand and interacted with attendees throughout the event.
"Both were extremely down-to-earth, mingling effortlessly and interacting with all the guests. Vijay was introduced to everyone and was gracious throughout. It was a proud moment for all of us who call Rashmika 'nangada Modi' (our girl)," a guest said.
Vijay expresses interest in Kodava culture and traditions
Vijay also spoke briefly in Kodava Thakk, expressing his interest in learning more about the region and its traditions.
The evening concluded with the couple cutting a layered cake, in keeping with local custom.
