Revelly Receives Telangana's Highest Rainfall as Most Districts Stay Dry

HYDERABAD: Revelly mandal in Wanaparthy district recorded the highest rainfall in Telangana during the 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on July 9. The mandal received 16.7 mm of rainfall, according to the official Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS) rainfall map.

Notably, Revelly was the only place in the state to receive moderate rainfall (15.6 mm-64.4 mm). Meanwhile, most other districts recorded light to very light rain, while several areas remained dry.

Light rain reported in several districts

Light rainfall (2.5 mm-15.5 mm) occurred in parts of

, Mahabubnagar, Vikarabad, Rangareddy, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Adilabad, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Mahabubabad and parts of Khammam.



In addition, very light rainfall (0.3 mm-2.4 mm) was recorded in parts of Hyderabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Siddipet, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Nirmal and Nagarkurnool.

Dry weather continues in many areas

However, most of central-eastern and southern Telangana received little or no rainfall (0.0 mm-0.2 mm). Dry conditions continued across large parts of Nalgonda, Suryapet, Jangaon, Hanumakonda, Warangal, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Jogulamba Gadwal and Narayanpet districts.

The rainfall data is based on the Telangana Development Planning Society's cumulative 24-hour observations from 8.30 am on July 8 to 8.30 am on July 9.
