TELANGANA: Police in Patancheru on Saturday, December 27, 2025, arrested Amit Raj Sinha, Chief Executive Officer of Sigachi Industries Limited , in connection with the industrial blast at Bhanur that killed about 50 workers nearly six months ago.

CEO named accused in culpable homicide case

Sinha was listed as Accused No. 2 in the case registered after families of the deceased workers filed a complaint. The blast occurred on June 30, following which police booked the company management for culpable homicide.

Probe by Patancheru police

The arrest followed an investigation by the BDL-Bhanur police in Sangareddy district, which examined the circumstances that led to the explosion at the industrial unit.


Telangana launches statewide checks after Kurnool bus accident

High Court intervention

The development came after the Telangana High Court pressed for action against the management while hearing a public interest litigation filed by a group of retired scientists. The petition sought accountability for what they described as the biggest industrial mishap in the State.
