TELANGANA: A man died in a road accident near Jakkapur on the Siricilla-Siddipet main road on Monday.

Police said a speeding car travelling towards Siddipet hit an oncoming motorcycle near Jakkapur. The impact threw the biker into the air, killing him on the spot.

The deceased was identified as Tirupati, a resident of Mandapalli in Siricilla district.

Footage from the dashcam of a vehicle travelling behind the car recorded the collision. The video, which is now circulating widely on social media, shows the car veering slightly before hitting the motorcycle. Residents alleged that negligence by the car driver led to the fatal crash.

Police begin standard accident inquiry

Police registered a case and initiated a detailed inquiry. Officers said they will examine the dashcam video, inspect both vehicles and review CCTV footage from nearby shops and junctions.

A senior officer said that as per procedure, they will check the car's speed, mechanical condition and lane position at the time of the accident. Statements from eyewitnesses and locals will also be recorded to complete the investigation.
