HYDERABAD: Minister for Information Technology, Electronics and Communications D Sridhar Babu on Monday announced that the Telangana government has rolled out the new Scheduled Caste (SC) classification system across the State through the MeeSeva citizen service platform.
"In line with Telangana Act No. 15 of 2025 and G.O.Ms.No.9, Scheduled Castes Development (POA.A2) Department, dated April 14, 2025, we have completed the integration of the new SC classification system into MeeSeva," the Minister said.
He said the reform marked a significant step towards ensuring that reservation rationalisation reached every eligible citizen transparently and efficiently.

The exercise, carried out in coordination with the Commissioner of the Scheduled Castes Department, is expected to benefit nearly four lakh citizens who apply for SC community certificates every year through MeeSeva.
"All MeeSeva centres across Telangana have been updated to reflect the newly introduced sub-classified SC groups," Sridhar Babu said. "From now on, citizens can obtain community certificates that accurately reflect their category under the new structure."
He added that MeeSeva had also introduced a re-issuance feature for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, and Backward Class community certificates. This allows citizens to get re-issued certificates directly through the platform without fresh approval.
"The re-issued certificate will clearly mention the approving officer's details and the date of re-issue," the Minister said. "This is a key move towards making government services more citizen-centric and paperless."
Emphasising the government's focus on inclusive digital governance, Sridhar Babu said:
"Our goal is to make MeeSeva a true one-stop platform for every citizen - where government services are delivered with speed, accuracy, and fairness. These new measures reflect Telangana's commitment to equity and technological empowerment."
Citizens can access the updated services at all MeeSeva centres across Telangana or by visiting the official MeeSeva website.
