Telangana HRC seeks DGP report on remarks

HYDERABAD: The Telangana Human Rights Commission has sought a report from the Telangana Director General of Police by February 20, 2026, on a complaint alleging hate and provocative remarks against a police officer.

Complaint over alleged hate remarks

The complaint was filed by Mohammed Faheemuddin Qureshi, Vice-Chairman and President of the Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institutions Society (TMREIS).

He alleged that Padi Kaushik Reddy, Huzurabad MLA, made unprovoked, hate-filled and provocative remarks targeting the religion of Goush Alam, IPS, Karimnagar Police Commissioner.

Judicial member issues direction

The complaint was registered as HRC No. 329/2026. After examining the petition, judicial member Shivadi Praveena directed the Director General of Police to submit a report on the matter by February 20, 2026.

The direction was issued through the Public Relations Officer of the Commission.
