Telangana Junior Colleges Reopen June 1 for First and Second-Year Students

HYDERABAD: The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TG BIE) announced the academic calendar for 2026-27. Junior colleges will reopen for first- and second-year students on June 1.

Classes will pause for Dasara from October 10 to 21, resuming on October 22. Half-yearly exams will take place from October 3 to 9.

The Board has scheduled a five-day Sankranti holiday from January 13 to 17, 2027. Classes will resume on January 18. Pre-final exams will run from January 18 to 23. Intermediate public practical exams are set for the last week of January, and theory exams will follow in the final week of February.

The academic year includes 224 working days and will end on March 27, 2027. Summer vacation will last from March 28 to May 30, 2027. Intermediate advanced supplementary exams will be held in the third week of May. The new academic year will begin on May 31, 2027.

TG BIE Secretary S Krishna Aditya advised colleges to strictly follow the admission schedule. He stressed that all Sundays and state-declared holidays must be observed, warning that deviations would face serious action.
