Two held with 25g MDMA at Nagole crossroads

HYDERABAD: The Special Operations Team (SOT) of LB Nagar Zone and Nagole police arrested two persons and seized 25.65 grams of MDMA at Nagole crossroads on April 1, 2026.

The case was registered as Crime No. 196/2026 under Sections 8(c) read with 20(B)(ii)(A) and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Nagole police station.

The arrested persons were identified as Junaid Raza Siddiqui, 36, a sales manager in US IT staffing, and Sunil Subba alias Johny, 29, a bartender and chef. Both are residents of Hyderabad.

Police said the two were apprehended around 22.00 IST while travelling on two Honda Activa scooters at Nagole X Road following a tip-off.

During a search conducted in the presence of mediators, officers recovered MDMA concealed in polythene packets inside a black bag hidden in the vehicle compartments. The seized quantity was confirmed as 25.65 grams.

Police trace supply chain to interstate drug network

Investigators said the accused were allegedly involved in selling MDMA to customers for quick money. The drugs were reportedly sourced through contacts identified as Mohammed Ansari and Raju, who procured the contraband from Himachal Pradesh.

Police said both suppliers are on the run and efforts are underway to trace and arrest them.

Along with the narcotic substance, police seized three mobile phones, ₹5,190 in cash, two scooters and a weighing machine. The total value of seized property is estimated at ₹3,61,990.

The accused were produced before a court and remanded to judicial custody.

Officials said the operation was carried out under the supervision of senior officers of the Malkajgiri commissionerate. Police added that efforts to curb drug trafficking and raise awareness would continue.
