HYDERABAD: Two Telugu women died in a road accident in the United States after the car they were travelling in plunged into a valley during a trip in California.
Friends on California trip
The victims were Pulakhandam Meghanarani (25) of Garla in Mahabubabad district and Kadiyala Bhavana (24) of Mulkanur, family members said.
Meghanarani and Bhavana had gone to the United States three years ago to pursue higher studies. They had completed their MS degrees and were searching for jobs.
Car plunges into valley
According to the families, the two women were travelling with six friends in two cars on a trip in California. While negotiating a curve on the Alabama Hills road, the car carrying Meghanarani and Bhavana veered off the road and fell into a valley.
The accident occurred at around 4 pm on Sunday, US local time. Both women died on the spot.
Families in grief
The sudden deaths have plunged the families of the two women into deep grief.
