HYDERABAD: The Smart Integrated Industrial City (SIIC) under the National Investment and Manufacturing Zone (NIMZ) at Zaheerabad in Sangareddy district has entered the execution phase.
The Centre announced the project in 2013.
The project gained momentum after authorities signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with Hyundai Motor Company, Triton Electric and VEM Technologies. Together, they committed over ₹14,000 crore.
Hyundai Motor Company will set up a Global Innovation Research and Development Centre on 675 acres. It will invest ₹8,528 crore.

Officials have completed the land survey. Phase-one development has begun.
The Zaheerabad NIMZ lies along the Hyderabad-Nagpur Industrial Corridor. It will serve as a manufacturing and logistics hub in south India.
The project is expected to create around 2.5 lakh direct jobs. It may generate 5 lakh indirect jobs across sectors.
Authorities acquired land from farmers several years ago. They allowed cultivation due to delays.
Officials will stop farming after the current Rabi season ends later this month.
Revenue officials surveyed 3,245 acres for phase one. They fixed boundaries for land handover to SRR Projects.
