CII Eastern Region Unveils Renovated 130+ Year-Old Kolkata HQ, Blending Legacy with Growth Vision
The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Eastern Region today formally inaugurated its renovated headquarters in Kolkata, the city where, over 130 years ago, the journey of the institution began with the Engineering and Iron Trades Association (EITA), which later evolved into the Confederation of Indian Industry.
The state-of-the-art renovation transforms the historic office into a modern, sustainable, and future-ready facility that reflects CII's unwavering commitment to excellence, innovation, inclusivity, and developmental leadership. The upgraded infrastructure will significantly enhance service delivery to members and foster deeper stakeholder collaboration.
"Today marks a proud moment in our over 130-year journey. We inaugurate this renovated headquarters as a symbol of renewal and resilience, a physical embodiment of CII's vision to remain relevant, responsive, and responsible in serving industry and society. This modern facility will empower us to deliver even greater value to our members, strengthen our role as the Eastern Region's growth catalyst, and amplify the impact of our pioneering initiatives in mining, agriculture, tourism, skills development, sustainability, safety, and industry-academia partnerships. As Eastern India emerges as the nation's growth engine, this refurbished home will help us accelerate that momentum with renewed energy and purpose," said Mr. Shashwat Goenka, Chairman, CII Eastern Region and Vice Chairman, RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group.
The renovated headquarters now features energy-efficient design, advanced digital infrastructure, dedicated collaboration spaces, and member-centric facilities that will further elevate CII's ability to support industry, government, and the larger ecosystem.
