WEAPON TRAINING CAMP
"CAMP HOSHIYAR -2026" AT CGDHQ-8, HALDIA

Indian Coast Guard District Headquarters No. 8 (West Bengal) successfully concluded its five-day Weapon Training Camp, 'Hoshiyar-26', held from 09-13 Mar 26.
This year's iteration marked a significant shift toward integrated maritime security, involving active participation from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Defence Security Corps (DSC), and National Cadet Corps (NCC). The primary objective was to harmonize small-arms proficiency and safety protocols across different security wings operating within the maritime and industrial zones of West Bengal.

1. Advanced Weaponry & Safety: Intensive modules on the maintenance and operation of service weapons under high-pressure scenarios.
2. Tactical Boarding & Asymmetric Warfare: Personnel practiced simulated drills to counter non-traditional threats at sea.
3. Mentorship Program: ICG instructors provided specialized marksmanship and discipline training to NCC cadets, fostering the next generation of India's maritime defenders.
4. It was emphasized that the inclusion of CISF and DSC personnel ensures a "unified shield" for the nation's vital coastal infrastructure.
