Opening to some very bittersweet reviews, Alia Bhatt and Sharvari'sAlpha hasn't seen a very strong start. If there was a guide on how to mess up a female-led action film, this would be it.
In its first weekend, the box office hasn't been kind to it either.
Also starring Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol, the film features a cameo from Hrithik Roshan in his War persona, Kabir. The movie is Yash Raj Films' latest addition to its Spyverse and by the looks of it, things aren't as hunky dory for it.

A daughter seeks revenge from her adoptive father while fighting for her nation at the same time. The movie centres around the Alpha serum that gives superhuman abilities to anyone injected with it, or rather, born with it.
As per Pinkvilla, the movie has collected a total of ₹55 crore in its opening weekend globally. Alpha earned ₹13 crore on its first Sunday. That is, it earned ₹39.5 crore within India and ₹16 crore internationally. As a start, this is a respectable figure considering it is a debut movie for both Alia and Sharvari in the franchise.
The question remains whether it can keep up or increase the pace in the new week.
Huma Qureshi's Baby Do Die Do, which is competing against Alia Bhatt's film at the box office, earned a total of ₹3.3 crore in its opening weekend, as per Manav Manglani and Instant Bollywood.
Another Sharvari movie has been at the box office for a few weeks now, performing impressively because of the power of word of mouth. Diljit Dosanjh, Naseeruddin Shah and Vedant Raina's Main Vaapas Aaunga proved that Imtiaz Ali movies will always stand out. By its fourth weekend, the movie earned ₹52 crore, approximately.
As expected,Welcome to the Jungle easily crossed the ₹100 crore mark. Akshay Kumar has given out hits back to back. However, with Alpha being released, the film is in competition where it was previously dominating. As per Sacnilk, the movie has earned a total of ₹114 crore up until Sunday.
