In the second chapter, they attempt to rebuild their shattered spy agency Citadel which was dismantled by Manticore - a powerful network backed by influential families.
The trailer showcases that the trio faces a globe-trotting danger in a darker and more complicated story. According to the season's synopsis, the lead operatives will race against time to tackle a conspiracy that could change the course of humanity.
The clip gives a glimpse into more challenging global threats, shifting alliances, and unexpected betrayals that could reshape the spy world.
About 'Citadel' universe
Citadel, premiered in 2023, made headlines for its massive production scale and budget. According to reports, the first season's six episodes cost around $250 million to $300 million, becoming one of the most expensive television shows ever produced.
The seven-episode upcoming season will expand the cast with many new faces. They include Lesley Manville, Ashleigh Cummings, Jack Reynor, Matt Berry, Lina El Arabi, Merle Dandridge, Gabriel Leone and Rayna Vallandingham.
Citadel's spin-off series were also made in Indian and Italian versions known as Citadel: Honey Bunny and Citadel: Diana. Citadel: Honey Bunny featured Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the lead.
In April 2025, Amazon MGM Studios announced Citadel: Honey Bunny and Citadel: Diana, will be taken off air. Instead, they will be woven into the storylines of Citadel season 2.
