Director Aditya Dhar Says 'He's Prepared For National Awards' As Dhurandhar 2 Creates History At The Box Office

Filmmaker Aditya Dhar is basking in the overwhelming success of his action espionage duology,Dhurandhar. The director has been sharing reviews of Dhurandhar 2 on his social media, expressing gratitude and gratefulness for all the love the audience has been showing him.

In a candid moment, he also hinted that he is prepared to win a National Award for Dhurandhar. Here's what he said:

While the original Dhurandhar created a box office storm, the sequel Dhurandhar: The Revenge turned out to be a bigger and grander spectacle that left almost everyone awestruck. Celebs including Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma gave glowing reviews to Dhurandhar 2, praising Dhar's brilliant filmmaking.

Apart from thunderous box office reception, the film is also dominating award shows. Dhurandhar recently swept the Chetak Screen Awards 2026 with 14 wins.

The tremendous success of the duology has also instilled confidence in director Aditya Dhar to win bigger and more prestigious awards like the National Awards. We are not merely speculating. In one of his recent Instagram Stories, Dhar declared that he is expecting Dhurandhar to win the National Award.

Recently, veteran actor Raj Zutshi's niece, Sankshita, shared her review of Dhurandhar: The Revenge, applauding the director's brilliance as well as her uncle's performance.

For the unversed, Raj Zutshi played the role of Lt. General Shamshad Hassan, the Director General of ISI in Dhurandhar: The Revenge. His character's showdown scene at the end with Intelligence Bureau officer Ajay Sanyal (Madhavan) became one of the highlights of the movie.

What an extraordinary film! Sequels can be challenging, given the high expectations from the original, but Dhurandhar 2 has genuinely exceeded them all! Dhar reshared her review on his Instagram Stories, adding, "Always prepared for the National Awards!"

Weeks after its release, the film's daily box office collections have been dipping. As of now, Dhurandhar 2's domestic net stands at Rs 1,023.77 crore, with worldwide collection standing at Rs 1,622.72 crore. It has become the first Bollywood film to enter the Rs 1000 crore club domestically.

Apart from Ranveer Singh, the film stars Bedi, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Sara Arjun and many others in a strong supporting cast.

Dhurandhar: The Revenge, the second part of the Dhurandhar duology, continues the focus on Jaskirat Singh Rangi (Ranveer Singh), a soldier training to be in the Indian Army, who goes rogue after his family bears the brunt of a land dispute. The Indian Intelligence trains Jaskirat to become a secret agent who later goes on to infiltrate the gangs in Karachi's Lyari as Hamza Mazhari.

As the key operative of Operation Dhurandhar, Hamza is tasked with paralysing the criminal networks in Lyari that are majorly responsible for high-profile terrorist attacks in India.
