KGF star Yash has quite a year ahead of him. Along with his much-awaited neo-noir gangster flick, Toxic, he also has Nitesh Tiwari's ambitious mythological epic, Ramayana, on his slate. Yash essays the role of the ultimate antagonist, Ravana, in Namit Malhotra's production Ramayana.

In a recent media interaction, Yash revealed a juicy detail in the first part of Ramayana. Upon being asked how his experience of working with Ranbir Kapoor was, he shared that his and Ranbir's characters do not have any scenes together in Ramayana Part 1.

In an interview with Fandango, Yash was asked about his dynamic with Ranbir on sets. Yash said, "Interestingly, we both have never come together on screen in this film. As you all know, it's a two-part film. So, in the first part, I think we have, as Ravana, I have my own kingdom, and Rama has his own kingdom."

Yash did admit that they met on sets and that Ranbir Kapoor is a "fabulous actor". He said, "But yeah, we have met a couple of times, and he's such a fabulous actor. I think it is mutual respect which has played out. Chemistry is like, when you're out to do something phenomenal, and it's as ambitious as Ramayana, all of us have a single agenda: to give our best to present this story. I think our visions are aligned, and the chemistry isn't something we are worried about. We're enjoying the process."

Yash also spoke about why he decided to play Ravana in Ramayana. He said that he was drawn towards the character as Ravana had a complex and layered personality.

Talking about his decision to play Ravana, Yash added, "Ramayana is not just about a good guy versus a bad guy. It's about understanding that you can be exceptional in every way-master of music, scriptures, and knowledge-and still falter because of your judgment. Your actions, your karma, define you. That's the lens I approached this character with. Ravana is a rare and layered personality, and I have always wanted to play this character."

Producer Namit Malhotra, who was also part of the conversation, raved about Yash's performance and said that the actor is being humble about his role. He said, "Yash is being very understated about what he has brought to the character. There's truly no one better who could have delivered that kind of flair and energy on screen."

With a staggering budget of Rs 4000 crore, Ramayana is touted as one of the most ambitious and expensive Indian films ever made. It features a stellar ensemble cast composed of Sunny Deol, Sai Pallavi, Ravi Dubey, Arun Govil, Lara Dutta, and Rakul Preet Singh,

The first part of Ramayana is slated for release this Diwali, with the second instalment scheduled to hit theatres on Diwali 2027.
