After writing paragraphs and paragraphs worth of praise for Aditya Dhar and Dhurandhar 2, Ram Gopal Varma is here with his first criticism of the film.

Ever since the movie was released on March 19, RGV has showered Aditya and Dhurandhar with unlimited love and praise. However, it looks like there is one thing about the film that has not pleased him.

RGV points out one thing that he did not like in Dhurandhar

In a recent conversation with writer Hussain Zaidi on his YouTube channel, Ram Gopal Varma spoke at length about what impressed him in Dhurandhar 2. While he lauded the film's craft and storytelling, he admitted he has issues with the portrayal of Dawood Ibrahim.

"The only element I disagree with is that. I feel that the portrayal of Dawood Ibrahim... They might have their own sources (but) I think it is being shown incorrectly," he said.

The director clarified that although he may not have authority over the subject, his understanding of Dawood is very different from what was shown in the film. He added, "It's not like I can say that with authority. But it is not falling in line with what I know."

RGV added that, based on what he has heard over the years, Dawood has been largely inactive. "He is inactive by choice, because he stopped doing anything. I believe he retired from criminal activities 20 years ago," he said.

But he agreed that with such big names, one can never be sure, "Nobody can be an expert, nobody can know this is the truth. We all think Dhurandhar has shown something... I can't disprove it, and the director can't prove it as well," he concluded.

Earlier, in a tweet, Ram Gopal Varma had called Dhurandhar The Revenge a cinematic phenomenon, claiming that it is bound to perform better than some of the best Hindi films, including Sholay.

He wrote, " After last nights watch of #Dhurandhar2 in terms of it's sheer cumulative impact in every which way , whether on it's expected collections , audience euphoria , social influences , cinematic grammar breaking , and above all the psychological audio visual impact , it will be a SHOLAY x 100 level magnificence and is bound to make all the greatest films made so far starting from MUGHAL E AZAM. Onwards look like TV SERIALS This is the BIRTH of a NEW CINEMATIC ORDER And the ruthless extinction of everything that that ever existed before.in the previous WORLD of CINEMA."

He continued in his tweet, "The very spelling of the word DIRECTOR will start from @adityadharfilms name , and it will be prudent and wise for even STEVEN SPIELBERG and CHRISTOPHER NOLAN to drop everything they are doing, and catch #Dhurandhar2 FIRST DAY FiRST SHOW."

In the film, the notorious gangster is referred to as 'Bade Sahab' and portrayed as the mastermind behind terror operations in India from Pakistan. However, Ram Gopal Varma suggested that this portrayal may not align with what he believes to be the reality.
