Yesterday, news was rife that Salman Khan's upcoming film Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace has run into trouble with the censor board and is getting delayed.
However, looks like the news is false, as the production house, Salman Khan films have issued an official statement and revealed that the movie has not even been sent for a CBFC certificate!

The statement read, "Any claims suggesting that Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace has encountered issues with the CBFC or that its certification has been put on hold are false. The film has not yet been submitted to the CBFC for certification. Therefore, such reports are entirely baseless."
The banner also appealed to media organisations and social media users to avoid circulating unverified information.
"We request that media outlets and individuals refrain from circulating unverified information. Any official updates regarding the film will be shared by Salman Khan Films through its official channels only," the statement added.

Salman Khan's Maatrubhumi is inspired by the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between the Indian Army and Chinese troops. As per a report by NDTV, the film's certificate is under process at the Central Board of Film Certification
"Clearance (from Censor Board) is pending as process underway. It is not on hold," insiders informed the portal.

The film was originally slated for an April 17 release ahead of Eid. However, the makers later postponed its release, with the film subsequently expected to arrive in theatres in August.
In Maatrubhumi, Salman Khan portrays Colonel Santosh Babu, the commanding officer of the 16 Bihar Regiment, who led Indian troops during the Galwan Valley clash and played a pivotal role in implementing the ceasefire agreement along the border. Chitrangada Singh stars as the female lead, while Abhilash Chaudhary and Ankur Bhatia feature in key roles.
