Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal is looking at a hectic slate in 2026 and 2027. Vicky is currently working on Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love & War , that also features Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt.

After Love & War, Vicky will immediately start training intensely for his role in Mahavatar, which will go on floors next year. Here's what we know:

Vicky Kaushal blocks 18 months for 'Mahavatar'

There has been some quite a bit anticipation around Vicky Kaushal's Mahavatar for some time. Touted as the actor's one of the most ambitious projects, the mythological epic has him fully invested and dedicated. Reports have emerged that Vicky will be undergoing intense training for his role in Mahavatar.

A recent report claimed that the Uri actor has set aside six months starting from January 2026 to train for Mahavatar. His character demands intense physical transformation as well as acting workshops to help him align better Amar Kaushik's directorial.

Pinkvilla quoted a source, "Vicky has committed to a rigorous six-month training program that includes physical transformation, bulking up, and a series of acting workshops tailored specifically for the film. Amar has designed a very detailed prep module for Vicky. It's not just about the physicality, but also about getting into the psychological and emotional graph of the character."

The source also said that Vicky has made himself exclusively available for 18 months for Mahavatar. He will start training in June this year after finishing his commitments with Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

Mahavatar is expected to go on floors in January 2027. The makers are reportedly intending to wrap it up by December 2027. During this time, Vicky may not make any other professional commitments to stay focused on his character.
