Meet The Five Startups Part Of Maruti Suzuki's Incubation Programme

Automobile giant Maruti Suzuki has selected five Indian deeptech startups for the fourth cohort of its flagship incubation programme, under its innovation initiatives.

The startups picked for the Maruti Suzuki Incubation Program (MSIP) are AugurAI, Aatral, Zen Mobility, Indus Vision and Proxgy. These new-age tech companies will co-create solutions across business functions with Maruti Suzuki.

"The startups onboarded this time are helping us achieve even higher levels of precision in manufacturing; sustainable mobility for last mile delivery of aftermarket parts; and enhanced safety for employees at the workplace,"Maruti Suzuki's MD and CEO Hisashi Takeuchi said.

The automobile giant onboarded the new cohort in partnership with IIM Bangalore's incubation hub NSRCEL.

This is part of Maruti Suzuki's strategy to introduce tech-based solutions across multiple business areas to enhance operational efficiency, strengthen high-accuracy manufacturing, improve quality, reinforce workplace safety, elevate customer experience, and support the development of smarter and safer products.

Further, Maruti Suzuki will award Proof-of-Concept projects to the selected startups, offering solutions including AI-based inspection for high-precision manufacturing, IoT-enabled workplace safety systems, and electric mobility for last-mile logistics.

Here is the list of Indian startups selected for the fourth cohort of Maruti Suzuki's incubation programme:

AugurAI

  • Founded: 2022
  • Founders: Ravishankar Rajagopalan and Balakumar Murugaiyan
  • Headquarters: Tiruchirappalli

The startup specialises in AI-enabled machine vision systems for automated visual inspection and quality assurance in manufacturing. It deploys AI for error detection in assembly line production, easing the monitoring process.

Aatral

  • Founded: 2018
  • Founders: Prem Anand Balachandran and Sathya Kalaivaani
  • Headquarters: Chennai

Aatral is engaged in development of applications using immersive XR (Extended Reality) solutions, including VR (virtual reality), AR (augmented reality), and industrial metaverse applications. Its services can be used in multiple industries where communication via Aatral XR tools to enhance the reach and maximise productivity using Aatral’s DAXR training platform.

Indus Vision

  • Founded: 2019
  • Founders: Sudiip Gupta, Nithesh Hegde, and Shailesh Sinha
  • Headquarters: Bengaluru

The deeptech startup specialises in AI-powered visual inspection systems, computer vision, and machine learning solutions for zero-defect manufacturing, quality control, and industrial automation, largely catering to sectors like automotive and manufacturing. It deploys AI for tasks like defect detection, visual quality assurance of vehicles and operational efficiency.

Proxgy

  • Founded: 2020
  • Founders: Pulkit Ahuja
  • Headquarters: Gurugram

Proxgy is a deeptech startup, which specialises in IoT-based solutions and provides smart wearables and safety products designed to enhance workplace safety and efficiency of blue-collar workers. Product suite includes offerings such as SmartHat, Sleefe, Lockator, Audiopad, AirHat, and BirdBox.

Zen Mobility

  • Founded: 2018
  • Founders: Namit Jain
  • Headquarters: Delhi NCR

Zen Mobility designs, engineers, and manufactures custom light electric vehicles (LEVs) with an aim to transform logistics and urban mobility as well as reduce carbon footprint. The startup has so far launched two new variants of its Zen Micro Pod - Micro Pod ThermoFlex and Micro Pod LoadMax.
